New York City Commercial Vehicle Restrictions

Overview

Certain roadways within New York City have commercial vehicle restrictions.

The guide below should help you determine if you can use your pickup van or other truck on New York City's roadways. The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is currently rebuilding the Grand Central Parkway from EXIT 9 NY 25A Northern Boulevard east to EXIT 10 I.U. Willets Point Boulevard.

The vehicle may not exceed 55 feet in length, 13 feet and 6 inches in height, and 8 feet in width.

This sign prohibits all vehicles above 6'11" in height from entering a roadway where it is posted. Like the eastern half of the Grand Central Parkway, the Jackie Robinson Parkway also has a height restriction of 6'11".
