Italy Defeats Turkey to Start Euro 2024 Title Defense
Defending champions Italy got their Euro 2024 campaign off to a winning start with a 3-0 victory over Turkey on Friday. The Azzurri were dominant throughout the match and took the lead in the 53rd minute through Ciro Immobile. Lorenzo Insigne doubled Italy's lead with a stunning free-kick in the 73rd minute, and Domenico Berardi added a third in the 86th minute to seal the win.
The victory not only gives Italy a strong start to their title defense, but it also sends three other teams to the round of 16. Wales, Switzerland, and Austria all benefited from Italy's win, as they are now guaranteed to finish in the top two of their respective groups.
